Client

Calleo was engaged by the Department of Defence, Defence Finance Group (DFG), to establish and deliver a team of highly skilled Data Specialists to support and manage data remediation activities across the broader DFG remediation areas. The group have their own CFO and are responsible for the management and operations of Defence’s financial systems, that support centrally managed processes such as regular reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable and budgeting.

Brief

The team required a mix of functional and technical resources in support of DFG Reforms, Defence Accrual Implementation Project (DAIP), SAP Ui5 development, systems sustainment, and the Defence ERP programme. As a high priority, the team of resources were required to provide a significant amount of flexibility during the height of the COVID-19 lockdown in Melbourne.

Solution

We worked with key stakeholders across DFG to create a well-rounded and extensive brief on requirements. The Calleo team worked with key stakeholders across DFG to create a well-rounded and extensive brief of requirements. Utilising Calleo’s existing government contractor workforce and network, the team worked collaboratively to quickly source and screen skilled resources in the data remediation space. We also approached top end talent through our premium online platforms. Within three business days the team produced a solution of six specialist resources, with detailed capabilities and skills for each individual that matched the brief requirements. Contingency and flexible options were provided.

Our approach

The Calleo team arranged a pre-engagement meeting before undertaking the recruitment activity to further understand the requirements. The team consisted of a Delivery Manager and three existing staff to support DFG. Once the identification process was completed, all reviews and assessments were conducted virtually. Detailed reports were then submitted against the original brief along with referee reports. A time was then set for feedback and discussion on the proposed candidates. Exploring questions, concerns or queries. Interviews and confirmation of team followed.
