Role
The role of the Systems Analyst - Digital is to translate business requirements into technical requirements that align with relevant architectures.
Key Duties:
- Partner with business analysts and other staff at all levels within the department and external agencies to determine business requirements.
- Negotiation of scope within technical and resourcing limitations
- Plan and facilitate workshops with business stakeholders to clarify requirements and present design solutions.
- Work closely with architects, UX designers, product design assurance and developers to ensure solution and functional designs are feasible and follow established patterns and standards.
- Develop & document detailed functional design specifications, user stories, mock-ups, diagrams and other design artefacts.
- (Peer) review colleagues' design deliverables, and confidence checks of built functionality
- Provide advice on the relative risks of project-related activities.
- Coordinate the implementation of solution designs with relevant stakeholders.
- Analyse and resolve design issues raised during development and post go-live.
You will ideally have:
- 3-5+ years’ demonstrated experience in IT systems analysis and design for digital products such as web applications and mobile app design.
- Portal/App Design experience
- Experience in transfering skills and knowledge to departmental officers.
- Experience working in a large organisation undergoing digital transformation.
- Experience applying UX/UCD in a ‘waterfall’ SDLC.
- Experience working with agile development teams.
- Prior experience working in the Australian Government, on large and complex IT systems.
- Extensive experience in designing web and mobile apps.
- Knowledge of the DTA Digital Service Standard, including web accessibility guidelines
- An understanding of designing for a wide variety of users, including those with accessibility needs.
- Experience in interaction design (as defined by DTA)
- Minimum SFIA Level 4
