Our Federal Government client is seeking an experienced Solution Architect to join a dynamic team and contribute to key technology initiatives.

Key Responsibilities 

The Solution Architect will be engaged to assist the Program to design and implement solutions to business problems and other initiatives where required.

The Solution Architect will provide the following services:
  • Design or assure design, of ICT solutions and oversight their implementation, working closely with subject matter experts and vendors, including:
    • Soliciting, analysing and shaping stakeholder requirements and providing requirements traceability to project outcomes
    • Developing of non-functional requirements
    • Developing, communicating and validating ICT Solution designs
    • Providing technical oversight of detailed design activities and implementation
    • Ensure test strategy and plans adequately cover non-functional requirements
    • Providing technical leadership for system integration
    • Developing implementation and transition plans
    • Assisting project manager to transform technical plans into project schedules and, where needed, coordinating technical work performed by other teams.
  • Apply industry methodologies to design and develop high level and detailed end to end solution architecture for initiatives covering application, Information, infrastructure and security, technology standards and principles to ensure fit against current and strategic business needs.
  • Liaise with the Enterprise Architect on solution architecture and proactively participate in peer review, including assuring that solution design is technically aligned with the department's ICT environment, meets requirements and contributes to business outcomes as planned.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully undertaking the responsibilities of a solution architect -this includes assuring the design of third-party solutions, undertaking ICT solution options analysis, and designing sustainable value of money ICT solutions that address business needs and incorporate architecture principles and engineering best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a high degree of independence and professionalism, including the ability to prioritise and undertake a varied workload and respond positively and flexibility to change.
  • Ability to successfully engage, manage and deliver supporting artefacts in support of architectural and design approval for Federal Government ICT technology solutions.
  • Relevant Tertiary qualifications or equivalent/demonstrated experience in required. Breadth of knowledge across ICT disciplines is required including applications, data, infrastructure, security, systems integration, ICT environments. Significant depth of knowledge and/or experience in one or more of the previously mentioned ICT disciplines is required.
  • Specialised knowledge and experience in relevant technologies.

  • Systems integration design o Data modelling
