This is a senior‑level, hands‑on web development role suited to an experienced developer who thrives in agile, multidisciplinary environments and is passionate about building high‑quality, user‑centred digital solutions at enterprise scale.
What you’ll be doing:
- Design, build and maintain responsive, accessible and scalable web applications that meet user needs and acceptance criteria.
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary delivery team, actively participating in agile ceremonies including planning, estimation and retrospectives.
- Write clean, well‑structured, testable and maintainable code across front‑end (and back‑end where required) components.
- Integrate frontend applications with backend services and RESTful APIs.
- Ensure all solutions comply with government accessibility, security and usability standards.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation across the full software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Proven experience working as a Senior Web Developer within a small specialist or multidisciplinary team in an enterprise environment.
- Strong experience delivering web solutions in fast‑paced agile delivery environments using modern development practices.
- Solid expertise in modern frontend technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript and/or TypeScript.
- Experience integrating with APIs and backend services (RESTful).
- Demonstrated ability to write clean, maintainable and reusable code with a strong focus on performance and user experience.
- Experience working within Australian Government agencies.
- Experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React, Vue.js or similar.
- Experience using Git and collaborative source control practices.
- Exposure to automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, or cloud‑hosted web platforms such as Microsoft Azure.
- 12‑month contract with the opportunity for up to 24 months’ extension.
- Work on nationally significant digital services that support Australians into employment.
- Hybrid working model with offices across ACT, VIC, NSW, QLD, WA, SA, TAS and NT.
- Supportive delivery environment focused on quality, accessibility and continuous improvement.
