Job Details
The SharePoint Migration Specialist supports the Enabling 8 Project to plan, lead and execute the migration of the fed gov's on-premises SharePoint 2019 holdings to SharePoint Online. This includes migrating content, configuring SharePoint Online environments and remediation of errors and issues encountered during the migration process.
Key Duties
The SharePoint Migration Specialist will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Lead and execute content migrations from file shares and on-premises SharePoint to SharePoint Online using various tools, including ShareGate;
- Implement clear information architecture including site structures, permissions, and governance frameworks aligned with business and compliance needs;
- Configure SharePoint Online environments, including site structures, permissions and user access protocols to ensure secure content;
- Provide technical support, troubleshoot issues, and analyse migration reports;
- Assess complex environments and remediate errors and issues encountered during the migration process;
- Collaborating with other teams: Working closely with other IT teams to ensure that SharePoint Online is integrated with other systems and meet the organisation’s needs
- Strong knowledge of SharePoint 2019 and SharePoint Online
- Expertise in PowerShell for scripting and automation
- Experience in JavaScript/ Typescript for client side coding
- Strong knowledge of SPFx and PnPjs;
- Familiarity with migration tools such as ShareGate;
- Experience with InfoPath and SharePoint designer to identify requirements for form and workflow redevelopment for the SharePoint Online environment Understanding of Active Directory and Azure AD for authentication
- Experience with Power Automate for custom solution development
- Strong technical troubleshooting capabilities
- Strong knowledge of information architecture, governance, and permissions management
- Ability to gather requirements from stakeholders and work effectively with project teams.
