Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst with extensive procurement and ICT experience to support its ICT Contracts and Procurement function.
The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders to gather, analyse, and refine detailed business requirements, and translate these into fit-for-purpose procurement documentation.
The role plays a key part in bridging the gap between business needs and procurement processes, ensuring all documentation is robust, compliant, and effective for market engagement.
Responsibilities include:
- Identify, analyse and document business problems, rules, and requirements.
- Translate business needs into detailed procurement documentation, including Statements of Requirements, Business Requirement Documents, and Functional Specifications.
- Support and uplift team capability through knowledge transfer and mentoring.
- Develop a range of business artefacts such as process models, gap analyses, stakeholder engagement plans, data models, traceability matrices, and UAT support materials.
- Conduct moderate to complex procurement activities and manage contracts in line with the Department’s policies, the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs), and the Commonwealth Procurement Framework.
- Collaborate continuously with customers and internal teams — including developers, testers, and product managers — to refine requirements and deliver high-quality outcomes.
- Adjust and reprioritise activities in response to shifting business priorities and feedback.
- 5+ years of relevant Business Analysis experience, with a focus on ICT procurement and requirement translation.
- Experience working in iterative and incremental project lifecycles.
- Ability to embrace change and adapt to shifting requirements.
- Experience in Commonwealth or State Government environments.
- Knowledge of ICT procurement frameworks and best practices.
