Join a well known Federl Government Deparment and play a key role designing, developing, and supporting enterprise‑grade Oracle database solutions that underpin critical public services nationwide.
This is a senior‑level, hands‑on role suited to an experienced Oracle Database Developer who enjoys working across both legacy and modern environments. You will be involved across the full application lifecycle, from design and build through to optimisation, support, and continuous improvement, while also mentoring junior team members and contributing to broader technical capability uplift.
What you’ll be doing:
- Design, develop, maintain, and enhance Oracle databases to meet complex business requirements.
- Design and implement database schemas, tables, views, indexes, packages, procedures, triggers, and functions using Oracle SQL and PL/SQL.
- Optimise database performance, availability, scalability, and security using Oracle best practices.
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve production system issues.
- Develop and execute unit tests, maintain documentation, and ensure high code quality standards.
- Work collaboratively with developers, analysts, testers, delivery managers, and stakeholders across the SDLC.
- Strong, hands‑on experience designing and supporting Oracle databases in complex or enterprise environments.
- Advanced proficiency in Oracle SQL and PL/SQL, including analytical functions, dynamic SQL, collections, and exception handling.
- Experience working within structured SDLC environments (Agile or Waterfall).
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high‑quality outcomes under tight timeframes.
- Comfortable working independently while also collaborating within multi‑disciplinary teams.
- 3+ years’ experience as an Oracle Developer in enterprise‑scale environments.
- Experience with performance tuning, security, backup and recovery, and data modelling.
- Experience supporting and maintaining production Oracle systems.
- Baseline Secuirty clearance or higher.
- Oracle certifications (OCP, OCM, OCE).
- Experience using Azure DevOps for work management and development workflows.
- Familiarity with CI/CD practices in an Oracle development context.
- Exposure to Microsoft SQL Server.
- Long‑term contract 12 months intally with 2x12 month extenion options.
- Work on complex, enterprise‑scale Oracle platforms.
