One of our highly regarded Federal Government Clients' are currently going through a number of upgrades and enhancement projects and as part of that transition, they are seeking talented Senior Machine Learning Engineers and MLOps Engineers to join the team. This role is critical in enabling data-driven decision-making and delivering innovative AI capabilities within a secure and compliant environment.
Due to the nature of the role, candidates must be Australian Citizens to be found suitable. Those with Federal Government clearances are encouraged to apply.
Key duties and responsibilities
- Design and implement machine learning models and algorithms for complex datasets.
- Develop and maintain ML pipelines for training, testing, and deployment.
- Optimise models for performance, scalability, and accuracy in production environments.
- Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Ensure compliance with Australian Government security frameworks (ISM, PSPF) and ethical AI principles.
- Implement monitoring and maintenance processes for deployed models, including data drift detection.
- Provide technical advice, mentorship, and capability building within the team.
- Stay current with emerging ML technologies and best practices.
Candidates with the following skills and experiences are encouraged to apply.
- Demonstrated experience in machine learning engineering within complex environments.
- Strong proficiency in Python and ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn).
- Experience with data engineering, feature engineering, and model optimisation.
- Familiarity with ML Ops practices and tools (Kubeflow, MLflow, Airflow).
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
