About the role
The Business Analyst will support the Smaller Entity ERP Uplift Support Project Management Office (PMO) by conducting thorough analyses of business processes, requirements, and objectives. They will facilitate effective communication by translating complex business needs into clear and actionable specifications, ensuring that the project team understands and aligns with data goals.
The Business Analyst will excel at data interpretation, providing valuable insights that enable informed decision-making. Their attention to detail, analytical prowess, and ability to identify potential challenges contribute to the overall efficiency and success of project activities, fostering a collaborative and results-driven project management environment.
Duties
- Facilitate and lead structured workshops with business stakeholders to comprehensively understand diverse business processes, workflows, and user requirements, including identifying potential impacts or challenges for proposed solutions.
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with peers across the Department and potential vendors, effectively translating business needs into detailed functional specifications and requirements.
- Develop comprehensive business requirements documentation, clearly defining business needs, success criteria, and measurable outcomes.
- Work both independently and collaboratively to optimise business and data processes, facilitating process re-design through improvements in information systems, information management practices, procedures, and organisational change management.
- Create and maintain traceability matrices to ensure all business requirements are addressed throughout the project lifecycle.
Skills & experience
- Working with stakeholders to define and prioritise ERP requirements.
- Collaborating with subject matter experts, end users, architects, and developers to analyse existing business processes and identify optimal solutions.
- Defining future state requirements with clear acceptance criteria.
- Proven experience in leading the delivery of ERP technology implementations and business process uplifts.
- Demonstrated experience in the transformation and introduction of new business processes and procedures including process transformation and change management.
- Strong ability to create intuitive use cases, detailed process models (process and data flow diagrams), comprehensive impact analysis documents, and effective test plans and cases.
- Experience with a variety of ERP technologies within a government environment.
