Join a well known Federal Govenment Department's Operational Analytics branch and play a critical role in designing and delivering cutting-edge data engineering solutions that protect Australia’s financial system. What you’ll be doing:
- Design and develop RESTful APIs for secure, scalable data access.
- Integrate external APIs to ingest third-party data into enterprise systems.
- Manage API gateways, authentication, and access controls for secure data exchange.
- Ensure APIs meet best practices for scalability, security, and performance.
- Collaborate with software engineering teams to embed APIs into applications and workflows.
- Lead technical design discussions and propose scalable architecture solutions.
- Establish and enforce best practices in data engineering, coding standards, and CI/CD for data pipelines.
- Partner with product managers, architects, and stakeholders to align solutions with business goals.
- 5+ years of professional experience in data engineering or related fields.
- Hands-on experience with big data frameworks (PySpark, Spark, Hadoop).
- Proven experience building and managing REST APIs, including authentication (OAuth2, JWT) and API gateway management.
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL for data processing.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices for CI/CD in data pipelines.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and streaming data processing.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related fields.
