This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of ICT and laboratory operations, helping modernise systems, improve data management, and enhance digital workflows that underpin nationally significant scientific capabilities.
Working closely with scientists, technicians and ICT professionals, you will play a key role in supporting and uplifting an air-gapped network environment and ensuring systems are optimised for reliability, security and performance.
The successful candidate will be a proactive and technically capable ICT professional with experience supporting complex environments and engaging with diverse stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with laboratory teams to improve workflows and digital processes
- Map and analyse data flows and storage practices across systems
- Support uplift of an air-gapped LAN environment
- Maintain registers of software, systems and licensing to inform planning and procurement
- Provide reporting and insights for ICT governance and user forums
- Collaborate with ICT teams, vendors and stakeholders to deliver technology improvements
- Contribute to documentation, procedures and sustainable ICT practices
- At least 3+ years’ experience supporting IT or digital uplift initiatives
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work autonomously
- Proven ability to engage, influence and collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience in data mapping, workflow improvement or information management systems
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Experience working in scientific, laboratory or research environments
- Relevant tertiary qualifications (Science, Engineering or ICT)
- Knowledge of cyber security, data analysis or software development
- Familiarity with laboratory standards (e.g. NATA, TGA)
- Onsite role, 5 days a week in the office required
- Opportunity to support an important Federal Government agency
- Must hold a Baseline security clearance
