Client 
Our client is an Australian Government department that leads the country's response to climate change, shapes national energy policy and protects the environment, cultural heritage and water resources.

Role 
The Remote ICT section leads and participates in several projects that seek to deliver enhanced ICT capabilities across the AAD and Parks organisations. A dedicated Project Manager is required to support these bodies of work, leading and delivering internal projects as well as representing as a Remote ICT stakeholder on external project boards.
 
Responsibilities
  • Developing comprehensive project plans, setting clear objectives and overseeing the end-to-end execution for ICT projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Efficiently allocating resources, including budgets, personnel and technology assets to maximise project outcomes and minimise wastage.
  • Use, adapt and work across various delivery methodologies (Prince2, MSP, Agile, SAFe, Hybrid).
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation, including senior management, cross functional teams and external partners, to ensure alignment and collaboration.
  • Identifying potential risks and obstacles that could impede project progress and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Ensuring that the digital solutions and technologies implemented meet predefined quality standards and performance benchmarks.
  • Working closely with stakeholders to develop an in-depth understanding of their team, products objectives
  • Identifying organisational needs for new software or technology that will help with efficiency and/or performance.
  • Managing project expectations through regular meetings, project status reports and maintaining great relationships
  • Display resilience and flexibility to deal with ambiguity and conflicting priorities to successfully deliver under pressure within a challenging environment.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties as directed by the Project Manager and/or Project Management Office.
Essential experience 
  • Experience as a Project Manager or coordinator in a technical role and ability to analyse and solve technical communications problems.
  • Experience working in ICT with a sound knowledge of satellite, networking and radio communications components.
  • Experience working in Government departments
  • Experience delivering ICT projects in remote locations and environments.
