About the role
The ICT Procurement Lead will operate under broad direction and play a critical role in supporting multiple projects across the Agency, leading the planning, coordination, and execution of ICT procurement activities across diverse platforms with varying levels of size, complexity, and technical requirements. The role oversees end‑to‑end procurement for ICT hardware, software, licensing, and support and maintenance services, ensuring all activities align with Commonwealth legislation and Agency procurement policies and processes.
Duties
- Lead and coordinate ICT procurement activities in line with Agency procurement rules, policy frameworks, and commercial guidelines across the full procurement lifecycle.
- Prepare high‑quality procurement documentation, including SOWs, BOMs, risk assessments, EULA reviews, and delegate approval packages.
- Translate complex ICT technical, architectural, and systems information into clear, commercially usable content for procurement and contract documentation.
- Support vendor evaluation and contract negotiation, ensuring compliance with governance requirements and value‑for‑money principles.
- Manage procurement actions, track delivery and acceptance of ICT assets and services, and maintain accurate records in the organisation’s electronic record‑keeping system.
- Strong understanding of Australian Government procurement rules, commercial frameworks, and ICT procurement processes.
- Ability to interpret and translate complex ICT technical information into clear, fit‑for‑purpose procurement documentation.
- Experience supporting vendor evaluation, contract negotiation, and compliance‑driven procurement governance.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with SMEs, project managers, architects, engineers, and commercial teams.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage procurement actions, track deliverables, and maintain accurate records.
