Overview
Our Federal Government client is seeking a Finance Officer at the APS 4 level to support the effective and timely processing of routine financial transactions, contributing to accurate financial records and the smooth operation of day-to-day finance activities.
This role provides administrative and clerical support by processing, verifying, and reconciling invoice payments, attending to all invoice enquiries, keeping detailed records of all transactions in various systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver responsive service by managing the Finance inbox and phone enquiries, providing clear advice on processes, timeframes, and Service Level Agreements
- Process invoices, credit card transactions, and receivables accurately and on time, applying sound judgement, resolving discrepancies, and following up overdue debts
- Support day to day finance operations, assist with audits, and maintain continuity of services during staff absences
- Contribute to process and system improvements by identifying efficiencies, supporting system testing and transitions, and maintaining up to date SOPs.
Skills & Experience
- Excellent attention to detail and experience in ensuring accurate processing of payments, invoices, and other financial transactions
- Strong knowledge and experience using financial systems such as SAP S/4HANA and SAP Concur, with the ability to work efficiently across systems
- Ability to build rapport and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Collaborate effectively with team members to deliver tasks promptly, accurately, and to a consistent high standard
