About the role
Lead an investigations team responsible for complex and sensitive fraud and payment integrity matters. This role provides strategic leadership across investigations, quality assurance, stakeholder engagement and capability development, working closely with government, regulatory and law enforcement entities to deliver meaningful outcomes and strengthen program integrity across the Department.
 
Duties
  • Lead and mentor a team delivering complex investigations and payment integrity outcomes across the department.
  • Manage and quality assure sensitive investigations, including planning, evidence gathering, briefs of evidence and reporting.
  • Drive investigative capability through contemporary practices, tools, techniques and continuous improvement.
  • Review, analyse and report on investigation outcomes to identify risks, trends and opportunities to strengthen fraud and payment integrity.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with regulatory, law enforcement and government partner agencies to support successful investigation outcomes.
 
Due to the nature of this role, some domestic air travel and overnight stays may be required.
 
Skills & experience
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to develop, coach and build high-performing teams.
  • Ability to assess complex information and deliver sound outcomes.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively.
  • Proven ability to drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities, implementing solutions and enhancing business processes.
  • Highly developed planning and organisational skills, with a focus on delivering quality outcomes, managing priorities and meeting deadlines.
