About the role
The Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) provides specialist financial management, assurance and reporting to support effective delivery of programs, ensuring strong governance, grant oversight and risk management across all program streams.

The role translates complex financial and grant data into clear insights for senior stakeholders and contributes to briefings on issues affecting vulnerable and disadvantaged communities in regional and remote areas. Working within a geographically dispersed branch, the CPA collaborates with internal teams and external stakeholders, including child care services, community representatives and government agencies, to enable accountable and well‑coordinated program delivery.
 
Duties
  • Coordinate administrative and strategic papers on land leases, including MOUs with relevant stakeholders
  • Design and deliver financial milestone, acquittal and compliance reporting processes, supporting Program Officers and provider communication
  • Lead additional funding processes, assess funding requests and provide financial analysis, advice and recommendations
  • Provide strategic financial management advice, including service‑level financial reporting, forecasting and program expenditure analysis
  • Analyse financial viability of vulnerable and remote services and recommend additional funding where required
  • Manage program reporting, data requests and grant agreement updates, and run the annual Compliance and Operations Reporting survey process
 
Skills & experience
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and coordination skills
  • Ability to design and manage financial and compliance processes
  • Advanced financial analysis and strategic advisory capability
  • Clear, concise reporting and data presentation skills
  • Experience in grant administration, funding movements and survey coordination
