About the role
The Drupal Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and enhancing digital user experiences across the Agencies public website and intranet platforms. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team of web specialists, the role takes ownership of front‑end and back‑end development, content management solutions, and the continuous improvement of the Agencies digital ecosystem.
The successful candidate will bring solid experience with Drupal (8/9/10) and SharePoint, along with well‑developed skills across front‑end technologies, integration patterns, and modern web development practices. They will contribute to solution design, lead development activities within defined workstreams, and ensure high‑quality, accessible, and secure digital products.
Duties
- Strong experience delivering and enhancing web content management solutions, with a focus on user centred design, accessibility (WCAG), and performance optimisation.
- Ownership of development tasks across the full lifecycle, including solution design, build, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
- Proficiency in front end development technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frameworks (e.g. React), with the ability to build responsive and accessible interfaces.
- Experience delivering full stack solutions, including configuration and optimisation of web servers (e.g. Nginx, Apache), databases (e.g. MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle), and CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps).
Skills & experience
- Demonstrated experience with Drupal (8/9/10) including site building, module development, and configuration.
- Strong experience with front‑end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React or similar frameworks).
- Working knowledge of server‑side development (PHP preferred) and web application frameworks.
- Experience with DevOps practices, including version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience delivering digital products within a government or regulated environment, with understanding of accessibility, security, and compliance requirements.
