About the Role
As the Data Architect, you will provide leadership across enterprise data architecture, modelling, governance, and integration activities. Working closely with business and technical stakeholders, you will help define and implement the data foundations required to support organisational decision-making and digital transformation objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain enterprise, conceptual, logical, and physical data models
- Define and implement enterprise data architecture frameworks, standards, and design principles
- Establish and maintain metadata, data lineage, reference data, and master data management capabilities
- Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to define information requirements and data structures
- Ensure alignment between project delivery outcomes and enterprise data architecture standards
- Provide architectural assurance across projects, platforms, and enterprise data initiatives
- Promote and embed data governance, stewardship, and data quality practices
- Support integration initiatives through common data standards and reusable architectural patterns
- Mentor technical teams and provide expert guidance on data architecture and modelling disciplines
- Drive continuous improvement in enterprise data management maturity and information architecture capability
- Demonstrated experience designing and governing enterprise-scale data architectures and data models
- Strong expertise across conceptual, logical, and physical data modelling practices
- Proven experience implementing data governance frameworks, including metadata, lineage, master data, reference data, and data quality practices
- Experience working with both business and technical stakeholders to define information requirements and data strategies
- Strong understanding of data integration, interoperability, and enterprise information management principles
- Technical leadership experience, including mentoring teams and providing architecture guidance across multiple projects
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence strategic outcomes
- Knowledge of Australian Government data governance, information management, privacy, and security requirements
- Experience supporting enterprise analytics, AI, automation, or digital transformation initiatives
- Active AGSVA Baseline (or higher) security clearance
- Long-term contract with extension potential of up to two additional years
