Overview
Our client, Federal Government Department, is seeking an experienced Data and Business Analyst to support its Security Clearances and Maintenance function. The successful candidate will analyse and interpret data relating to security clearance processes and timeframes, prepare executive-level reports and dashboards, and identify opportunities for operational improvement and efficiency. Working within a high-security environment, the role collaborates closely with vetting analysts, client service staff, and other teams across the division to strengthen data management, governance, and reporting capability.

Key Responsibilities Include: 
  • Analyse multiple sensitive data feeds to identify patterns, risks, and trends.
  • Develop, maintain, and present dashboards and reports for senior executives.
  • Manage reporting processes to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
  • Engage with internal stakeholders to promote improved assessment and analytic practices.
  • Contribute to change initiatives and enhance data governance and security operations.
  • Draft standard operating procedures and provide materials to uplift analytic capability.
 
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Degree qualification in information technology, business analysis, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience using digital and data systems such as SQL, Power BI, or similar tools.
  • Ability to interpret and communicate complex data clearly for executive audiences.
  • Proven stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Strong personal integrity and alignment with APS Values and Code of Conduct.

Due to the nature of the role, candidates must be  Australian Citizens  with minimum active NV1 security clearance (with willingness to upgrade to NV2 if required).
