About the role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join an Agile delivery team delivering a new regulatory management platform built on Microsoft Power Platform. The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders to elicit and define requirements, facilitate workshops, document business processes and translate evolving regulatory rules, fee structures and operational requirements into clear user stories, acceptance criteria and prioritised backlog items. A key focus of the role will be ensuring business rules and configurations remain flexible and maintainable as the regulatory scheme continues to mature.
Duties
- Run workshops with the regulator's business area, corporate finance and records management.
- Write features and user stories with acceptance criteria, and refine and prioritise the backlog with the product owner and Delivery Manager.
- Document fee rules and scheme configuration so they can be changed by an authorised user rather than a developer.
- Map regulatory processes for interventions and investigations against the department's existing case management pattern.
- Work with the architect and developers on the data model, and with the Test Lead on acceptance criteria and user acceptance testing.
- Support business readiness and interim manual processes where needed.
Skills & experience
- Business analysis on an Agile delivery team for an Australian Government agency, writing user stories and refining a backlog.
- Eliciting requirements from a business area whose policy or rules were still being settled, and keeping them flexible.
- Documenting fee, payment or financial process requirements with a finance area.
- Facilitating workshops with business owners and senior decision makers.
- Working closely with developers and testers through to acceptance.
- Power Platform or Dynamics 365 projects.
