Our client focuses on strengthening regional economies by developing place-based policies and programs, building partnerships between all levels of government and local communities, and providing grants and financial assistance through councils, non-profits, and other organizations.
We are looking for experienced APS5 with excellent communication, analytical and stakeholder management skills.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Working across the Commonwealth to develop policy advice on the opportunities and challenges facing regional Australia, including through strategic policy papers and briefing.
- Analysing and informing best practice approaches to regional policy development through the development of policy advice, drawn from research, local insights and a strong evidence-base.
- Supporting whole-of-government decision-making to ensure regional impacts are appropriately considered, including through engagement in the Cabinet submission process.
- Providing secretariat support for senior executive forums and meetings
- Preparing briefing, issues papers and policy documents for the Executive and Ministers.
- Building strong and constructive relationships with a broad range of stakeholders, both internal and external to the department.
