About the role
This high-performing team within the new Regulatory Division, delivers financial disclosure, compliance, and investigative activities that strengthen transparency and support the integrity of Australia’s democratic system.
As a Compliance Officer, you will undertake compliance assessments, review financial information, and contribute to the administration of election funding and disclosure obligations.
Duties
- Review financial disclosure returns to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with legislation.
- Assess election funding claims and undertake compliance reviews and enquiries.
- Support the administration and payment of election funding to eligible parties and candidates.
Additionally, the APS6 Officer will:
- Lead the collection and analysis of information to identify potential non-compliance and emerging risks.
- Support investigations by examining information from a range of sources and applying a risk-based approach.
- Provide leadership, guidance and mentoring to junior team members to support high-quality outcomes.
Skills & experience
- Experience in compliance, audit, regulatory or process-driven work.
- Strong analytical skills and sound judgement.
- Ability to manage priorities and deliver quality outcomes.
- Effective communication skills with a collaborative, adaptable approach.
Additionally, the APS6 Officer will need to demonstrate experience in:
- Leading audits, assurance activities, or similar compliance reviews.
- Ability to identify risks and support sound decision-making.
- Leadership skills, including mentoring and supporting junior staff.
- Ability to build productive stakeholder relationships and work across teams.
Due to the nature of this role, this position is open to Australian Citizens only who are able to obtain and hold a Baseline Security Clearance.
