API Systems Analyst
  • Initial contract to 30 June 2027 with 6 month extension  
  • PRISMS Integration for a large Federal Government Agency 
  • AGSVA NV1 Security Clearance required 

About the company
The role will be working with a Federal Government Agency in Canberra responsible for providing strategic direction and national leadership of Australia’s education system.

About the role
We are seeking an experienced Systems Analyst with API specialisation and demonstrated experience updating complex legacy web UI systems, developing and interpreting API and integration specifications, and supporting integration between government systems.

Prior knowledge of the Provider Registration and International Student Management System (PRISMS) is desirable. The role will support PRISMS integration with other Agency systems and contribute to the delivery of legislative and policy-driven system changes.
 

Duties
  • Assess the PRISMS legacy system environment against Agency integration requirements, analysing system functions, business rules, data flows, APIs, interfaces and dependencies to identify gaps, constraints, risks, impacts and required changes.
  • Develop and maintain API and integration specifications, including interface
  • Elicit, analyse, validate and document legislative, policy, business, system, data, interface and non-functional requirements across multiple Agencies and technical delivery teams
  • Translate legislative and policy reforms into implementable system, API, data and integration requirements, ensuring requirements are clear, traceable, testable and aligned with business outcomes.


Skills & experience
  • Demonstrated experience interpreting, developing and maintaining API and integration specifications, including data mapping, validation, error handling, security and interface requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience as an API Systems Analyst supporting the enhancement or modernisation of complex legacy systems.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting PRISMS integration within a Government environment.
