Background
Our client, one of the largest Federal Government Departments, is searching for a Senior Project Officer to join an established, high-performing project team working on a large financial systems transformation program.
The role
The Senior Project Officer will provide support to the Director in a variety of tasks, including group inbox management, task prioritisation, allocation and tracking and register management. This is a dynamic role, and responsibilities will vary day-to-day, week-to-week.
About you
Attitude is more important than aptitude for this role. To be successful in this role you will need to be a dynamic self-starter who is comfortable working in a varied and fast-paced environment. As this role is working on a team involved in a large finance system transformation, any exposure to finance and accounting and/or large systems transformations projects would be highly regarded. Experience working in the public sector will be highly regarded.
Above all, we're looking for someone who can demonstrate initiative, bring a solution-mindset to problems and is comfortable rolling their sleeves up to get things done.
What's on offer
This is a contract role, with an initial term through until 30 June, 2026 with potential for further extensions. We're targeting a pay rate of between $700-900 per day, but can be flexible for an outstanding candidate.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day support to the Director across various ad-hoc tasks
- Manage the group mailbox, including prioritising and allocating incoming work requests
- Track task completion and identify bottlenecks, raising issues to the Director as required
- Ensure registers are up-to-date and accurate
- A can-do attitude
- Demonstrated experience as a Project Coordinator / Officer
- Experience working on finance and/or systems transformation projects will be highly regarded
- Experience working for Federal Government (or public sector) organisations preferred
Due to security requirements around this role, candidates must hold an active ASGVA Baseline (or higher) clearance to be eligible for this role. Unfortunately, due to time-constraints, we are unable to accept applications from candidates who do not hold an active clearance.
