The Azure Cloud Automation Engineer will focus on managing and improving the federal government’s system infrastructure, such as on-premises server and storage systems, multi-cloud infrastructure, Office 365 applications, Standard Operating Environments and end user device management. Reporting to the Assistant Director IT Infrastructure, this role will assist the infrastructure team to deliver positive outcomes for matters relating to the management and support of infrastructure and systems.
The candidate must hold an active Baseline security clearance prior to commencement and ability to obtain NV1 clearance.
Responsibilities
This role will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- In partnership with the rest of the infrastructure team/s, provide systems expertise to enhance and improve existing solutions, including designing, developing, implementing, and testing solutions, in line with business requirements and software development standards.
- Collaborating with other teams in the work area, investigating and resolving complex issues with the operation of infrastructure and infrastructure as code.
- Ensuring deadlines are consistently met and that a high standard of technical and design documentation is provided.
- Contributing to the re-architecture of platforms and migration projects to move the department’s systems to cloud.
- Assisting the application development teams with the development and maintenance of DevOps continuous integration (CI) and continuous deployment (CD) pipelines.
- Defining, developing and documenting the existing automation technologies to enhance the system’s build, test and deployment capabilities.
- Contributing to providing On-call support for infrastructure and systems.
- Perform additional duties or assume responsibility of functions as directed from time to time.
- Demonstrated extensive experience working within IT Infrastructure working in hybrid cloud and on-premises environments and experience in virtualization, cloud computing, and storage technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across all levels and manager key stakeholders.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in deploying, testing, and maintaining an enterprise sized ICT environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of risk management principles and processes in context of security patch management and infrastructure management.
- Demonstrated experience in the development and maintenance of DevOps continuous integration (CI) and continuous deployment (CD) pipelines.
