A Federal Government agency is seeking an experienced Security Architect
to lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of its ICT security architecture. This is a critical role requiring a strong grasp of cybersecurity principles, compliance obligations (PSPF, NAA, ASD), and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Security Design & Implementation: Develop robust security architecture and ensure the integration of security controls across systems and platforms.
- Compliance & Governance: Ensure security practices align with government frameworks including PSPF, ISM, NAA, and ASD Essential Eight.
- Risk Management: Work with the Cybersecurity and Assurance team to identify, assess, and mitigate risks to information assets.
- Incident Response: Design and maintain effective response plans for managing cybersecurity incidents and breaches.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with ICT, legal, and business units to embed security in processes and solutions.
- Security Training: Promote a security-first culture through training and awareness programs.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay current on emerging threats and technologies to enhance the organisation’s security posture.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in cybersecurity roles, with at least 2 years focused on security architecture.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, TOGAF, SABSA, or equivalent experience.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with enterprise security tools such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, endpoint protection, etc.
- Knowledge of Standards: Deep understanding of Australian Government frameworks including PSPF, NAA, ISM, and ASD Essential Eight.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication, analytical thinking, and stakeholder engagement skills.
