Calleo is seeking for mutiples Network Engineer for one of our Federal clients:
Systems - Network Administrator
Responsibilities
- Performs system administration tasks using Oracle Linux and Microsoft Windows
- Provides support to DCR day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for all workstation, server, storage and network devices.
- Provides Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 support during problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problem.
- Troubleshoots, maintain integrity, and configures network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and
- Development and maintenance of standard operating environment
- Execute maintenance procedures to complete activites such as system backup, account management, disaster recovery, system upgrades and/or patching
Essential:
- Demonstrated experience as a Windows system administrator for medium to large scale ICT systems, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and WDS at a minimum.
- Demonstrated experience with configuration management, software management, ICT system roll out, cabling/wiring and computer server/networking hardware.
- High-level verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with VMWare hypervisor, vCenter, ESXi, NSX.
- Windows – AD, DHCP, DNS, Domain Controllers, PKI, Terminal Server, KMS, Group Policy, WDS.
- Ivanti – Device Control.
- SL Certs.
- Hardware Servers - HP & Dell.
- Hardware Storage – HP & Dell.
- Hardware Terminals – HP.
- Backups.
- Scripting Languages – Powershell & PowerCLI.
- Platform maintenance – Hardware/System health.
Desirable:
- Basic Networking skills.

- Experience with virtual desktop infrastructures and monitoring.
Systems Designer
The Systems Designer role is required to understand all aspects of the system, including network, infrastructure, software, and development.They will have specialised knowledge in best-practise ICT development and design principles, including DevSecOps and Infrastructure-as-code.
Experience
- Demonstrated strong understanding of networking fundamentals, network design principles, network security, and troubleshooting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of routing and switching, wireless networking, network analysis and optimization are also important.
- Proficiency in Docker, Docker Swarm, service creation, container orchestration, and CI/CD pipelines is essential for Docker-related roles.
- Demonstrated experience with Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Demonstrated experience with current networking technologies.
- Strong background as a Systems Engineer on medium to large size projects.
- Experience creating high level/low level designs and reference architecture.
- Experience with VMWare virtualisation.
- Experience with software Engineering.
- Experience in writing software in an object orientated programming language.
- High-level Communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills are essential for success. Desirable:
- Experience in defensive and/or offensive cyber operations.
- Knowledge of current Defence Cyber Training environment.
- Hold vendor certifications (VMware, Microsoft, Linux).
- Programming experience with C# and Angular.
- Experience with Ansible and Terraform.
- Australian government and/or Defence experience.
- Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery Pipelines.
- Experience with agile development processes.
- Systems and software testing experience.
- Experience in system simulations for training purposes
Network Engineer
Responsibilities
- Elicits and documents DCR system network requirements for review and approval as per the Engineering Management System.
- Develops DCR network designs, that meet requirements and takes into account takes into account target environment, performance and security requirements, and existing systems as per the Engineering Management System.
- Recommends/designs structures and tools for systems which meet business needs and takes into account target environment, performance security requirements and existing systems.
- Creates solutions which balance business requirements with information and cyber security requirements.
- Identifies security design gaps in existing and proposed architectures and recommends changes or enhancements.
- Translates logical designs into physical designs and produces detailed design documentation in collaboration with the DCR System Architect and DCR Infrastructure Engineer.
- Reviews current system designs, recommends and implements enhancements.
- Provides guidance and supervision to DCR technical staff to implement DCR network designs.
- Liaising with all project stakeholders.
- Identifies and develops improvements to workplace processes related to areas of duty.
Experience
Demonstrated experience as a Network Engineer on medium to large scale projects
Demonstrated experience with current networking technologies including WAN routing protocols and VPNs
Experience with virtual desktop infrastructures
Experience creating high level/low level designs and reference architecture
Experience in use of architecture frameworks
High-level verbal and written communication skills.
Hold vendor certifications or equivalent experience (Cisco, Fortigate/ Palo-alto/F5)
Desirable:
Experience in use of HAIPE devices
Experience with hyper-converged infrastructure, converged infrastructure, VMWare virtualisation
Experience in Windows operating system including Active Directory
Familiarity with DevOps
Agile methods and tools such as SCRUM with JIRA
Software development experience
Hold vendor certifications (VMware, Microsoft, Linux)
Systems engineering experience.
Systems and software testing experience
Experience working with the Australian Government Information Security Manual (ISM), Defence Security Protective Framework, and the National Institute of Standard and Technology.
Must hold NV1 security clearance or higher
Australian government and/or Defence experience is desirable
