ILS Officer
Contract opportunity | Canberra, ACT | Defence experience required

A high-performing Defence Program Office is seeking an experienced and proactive ILS Officer
to ensure that all ILS activities meet the objectives across various Defence Product Lines and to enable communication and collaboration between teams in support of ILS outcomes. The ILS Officer should expect to engage actively; driving outcomes in an autonomous and agile environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate ILS activities across multiple projects to ensure effective sustainment outcomes.
- Work closely with stakeholders including Asset Managers, Configuration Managers, and Software Support staff to align with engineering and maintenance standards.
- Maintain and uplift ILS documentation, procedures, and workflow accuracy.
- Manage support tasking tools and facilitate regular stakeholder meetings.
- Provide technical input for hardware and software asset management, including audit activities.
- Use Microsoft 365 tools (Planner, SharePoint) to support planning, reporting, and collaboration.
- Contribute to forums such as PMFs, CCBs, and MSRs to ensure ILS considerations are embedded in system design and change processes.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in logistics leadership, including team management and strategic planning.
- Familiarity with Defence systems, artefact development, and complex stakeholder environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, ICT, Commerce, or a related discipline.
- Project Management certification.
- SAFe® Practitioner certification (or willingness to obtain).
Security Requirements:
Due to the nature of this role, this job is open to Australian Citizens only. Candidates who currently hold or able to obtain Federal Government Security Clearances are highly desirable.
