Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced ICT Release Manager to join a Federal Government IT Portfolio Management Office (ITPMO). This pivotal role will lead the governance, coordination, and assurance of enterprise-wide ICT releases, ensuring major digital initiatives are delivered in a controlled, repeatable, and risk-aware manner.
Key Responsibilities and Requirements
- Govern and maintain the integrated release calendar across enterprise systems and large-scale programs.
- Lead release planning forums, readiness assessments, and go/no-go decisions.
- Uplift release and deployment frameworks, processes, and documentation in line with ITIL and APS best practice.
- Provide strategic governance and oversight across complex ICT programs, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture, security, and operational readiness.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior executives on release risks, dependencies, and impacts.
- Engage, support, and coach delivery teams to embed consistent and auditable release practices.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven track record leading ICT release management at enterprise level.
- Experience uplifting frameworks, documentation, and automated release practices.
- Strong understanding of governance, assurance, and interdependent program delivery.
- Excellent ability to engage with senior executives and multi-disciplinary teams.
- PMO/governance experience in major programs.
- Understanding of public sector ICT accountability and assurance frameworks.
- Knowledge of security and operational readiness requirements.
- Familiarity with cloud and hybrid enterprise platforms.
