Our client, an independent statutory agency of the Australian Government is seeking a Project Manager to support a large Program which enables the Department to implement and administer legislative amendments that will increase transparency and accountability.
About the role
The Project Manager will support the Program Manager and overall Portfolio with the execution and delivery of day to day operational activities for allocated Projects.
Duties
- Project Leadership & Delivery: Lead planning, implementation, and day-to-day management of project deliverables, ensuring alignment with scope, timelines, and budget.
- Governance & Reporting: Oversee governance processes, monitor progress, escalate risks, and deliver regular updates and presentations to the Executive Leadership team.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate meaningful engagement across internal and external stakeholders, responding to operational needs and representing the agency in relevant forums.
- Documentation & Analysis: Develop high-quality project documentation and reports, while providing expert analysis on complex issues to support policy and strategic decision-making.
- Team Leadership & Development: Supervise team members where required, fostering capability growth, mentoring junior staff, and promoting a culture aligned with the Department’s values.
- Strategic Contribution: Support program readiness activities and contribute to agency goals through sound decision-making, specialist advice, and adherence to legislative and procedural frameworks.
Skills & experience
- Project Delivery: Recent experience managing complex projects using varied tools and methodologies.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in MS SQL, data warehouse development, and Power BI.
- Communication: Delivery of high-quality written content and ability to engage stakeholders across dispersed networks.
- Team & Culture: Works well in collaborative, values-driven teams and portfolio environments.
- Strategic Focus: Skilled in setting priorities, meeting deadlines, and driving business improvement.
- Leadership & Integrity: Builds team capability, fosters professionalism, and leads with integrity.
