APS5 Technical Officer
 
Our client is responsible for post market monitoring and compliance testing, investigations and reviews and market authorisation assessment for therapeutic goods.
 
Duties of position
 
APS 5 Technical Officers perform specialised tasks including:

  • Conduct and report on laboratory testing of therapeutic goods to verify quality standards and support regulatory investigations and international harmonisation efforts.
  • Draft laboratory reports documenting the results of testing for approval by testing or project managers.
  • Participate in the development of new testing methods and the establishment of their reliability and validity.
  • Maintain accurate laboratory records and enter data into the information management system in line with quality and accreditation standards.
  • Contribute to the development of high quality, evidence-based testing manuals and SOPs.
  • Maintain current knowledge of new testing methods and tools and train and guide new staff to develop their familiarity with testing methods and equipment used in the laboratory.
  • Update the laboratory inventory to ensure the availability of required consumables and liaise with suppliers to ensure that stocks of equipment and consumables are maintained.
  • Manage inboxes of various nature to facilitate stakeholder engagement and support core business activities across the laboratory.
  • Undertake testing, calibration and maintenance of laboratory instruments and equipment, and identify and resolve technical faults and contribute to the identification of the laboratory’s future equipment needs.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of continuous improvement activities within the section. 
These roles require a specialised skillset in biological sciences, chemistry, and experience in regulated laboratory environments.

Mandatory requirements
  • A relevant degree in either biological sciences and or chemistry
Desirable  
  • Previous laboratory experience in an ISO17025/GMP licenced (or equivalent) laboratory would be highly regarded.
