APS4 Procurement Officer
 
Our client is responsible for evaluating new chemical entity prescription medicines, leading to regulatory decision. Through evaluating the clinical aspects of clinical medicines, they ensure medicines available for supply in Australia are safe, fit for their intended purpose and available in a timely manner.
 
Duties of position         
 
The Procurement Officer is critical in providing coordination and procurement support for the entire branch. This position plays a vital role in the administering the external evaluator contracts and general inbox maintenance. 

  • Administrative processing, contract management and ongoing support for all external evaluator consultancy contracts
  • Undertake procurement activities in accordance with PGPA Act 2013
  • Performing procurement reporting activities using Expenditure Management in SAP ESS and maintaining the Financial Register for all External Expenditure for end of month accruals
  • Supporting the APS5, contributing to the overall external evaluation procurement process
  • Managing the general inbox, the internal SharePoint tracker, and external-facing SharePoint sites for sharing dossiers
  • Workflow tracking and reporting
  • Liaising with internal staff such as the case managers and delegates on a daily basis regarding submission types and evaluation timeframes
  • Providing ad-hoc advice to staff on any queries that arise relating to procurement, contract management or external evaluators

Eligibility Requirements
  • Ability to obtain a National Police Certificate
  • Australian Citizenship is essential
Mandatory Requirements       
  • The ability to work effectively in a small team and contribute to building a cohesive work environment
  • Ability to complete allocated tasks and monitor their work under general direction
  • The ability to implement and track work processes, keeping lines of communication open at all times
  • Ability to build rapport and maintain internal and external stakeholder relationships
  • Good verbal and written communication
  • Good computer and keyboard skills with experience using the Microsoft Office suite of products, and capability to learn other relevant software as needed
  • A high level of attention to detail
  • The flexibility to undertake additional tasks as required
Desirable    
  • Knowledge of and experience of therapeutic goods regulation
  • Sound knowledge of Commonwealth Procurement Guidelines and Public Governance Performance & Accountability (PGPA) Act 2013
  • Experience with IT system data bases and reporting
  • Demonstrated experience in working within tight time-frames in a setting of conflicting priorities dealing with external stakeholders
